Support the Battle Building at UVA Children's Hospital

Imagine a place where a child can be inspired and engaged; where a mom and dad can find all they need to promote their son's or daughter's health; where hundreds of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff come together with a shared devotion to caring for kids. The Battle Building at UVA Children's Hospital, which opened this June, is like no other outpatient healthcare facility in our region.

Neighborhoods of Care for Children

With seven floors and 200,000 square feet, the Battle Building is home to:

  • Dozens of pediatric specialties, from primary care to cancer, heart disorders, and a full array of pediatric illnesses.
  • Pediatric outpatient rehabilitation and teen health.
  • The UVA Fetal Care Center, where mothers-to-be—particularly those with concerning medical issues—will get the care they need from maternal-fetal medicine experts and a full array of services.
  • A Clinical Trials Suite and Children's Clinical Research Office designed to foster development of new treatments—and renewed hope.

Cheerful colors and interactive play areas throughout the Battle Building are designed to keep kids engaged and comfortable during their visit. Common areas, and even exam rooms, invite youngsters to explore and imagine a world of their own. Classic children's tales come to life in fun features such as I Spy murals and a storybook wall.

The Battle Building at UVA Children's Hospital would not be possible without an extraordinary gift from the Ivy Foundation, long-time UVA Children's Hospital benefactors Barry and Bill Battle, along with many generous donors throughout Central Virginia. You can join them in supporting children's health. All gifts of $25,000 or more will be prominently recognized within the building.
