MadiTHON is the 4th annual Dance Marathon at JMU.  Last year’s event raised more than $90,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network program at UVA Children’s Hospital.  This year’s student run philanthropy event is hoping to break the $100,000 milestone while dancing for 11 hours straight.

Patients & Friends will host a community meeting at the Gordon Avenue Library on Thursday March 9 at 1 PM. The presenter is Dr. Mazhar Adli and his talk will be "Understanding the basics of CRISPR Technology and its Promises." Dr. Adli uses CRISPR technology for gene editing.

Dance for Life

The Sixth Annual Dance for Life will benefit the Marty Whitlow Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the UVA Cancer Center. Tickets are $40 at the door and include food and a silent auction. The evening will feature music by Central Virginia dance band, 180, along with a special appearance by the Monticello High School Jazz Band. All proceeds from the event go to support research and treatment for women in our community who have been touched by ovarian cancer.

Charlottesville Cares for Kids Radiothon

The Charlottesville Radio Group will be hosting the 4th annual Charlottesville Cares for Kids Radiothon.  Four different CRG stations will be taking over the Medical Center Lobby and broadcasting incredible stories from our Miracle Families while asking the listeners in the community to make donations to the Children’s Miracle Network program at UVA Children’s Hospital.  In the past 3 years, Radiothon has raised more than $130,000 for the kids in our community.

Dance Marathon at UVA

This will be the 20th annual Dance Marathon at UVA.  This student run event is looking to pass the $1 million milestone in fundraising since their first event in 1997.  Throughout the day, students and Miracle Families will be celebrating and dancing all while raising money for Hematology/ Oncology Research at UVA Children’s Hospital.
